At Corpus Christi we believe that learning a language really does have a positive impact on a child's developing. It increases their cultural awareness and understanding, improves their speaking and listening skills and reinforces grammatical terminology which features heavily in the new English curriculum. MFL is delivered by a native French language specialist from St Bede’s Catholic College teaching 30 minute lessons to each of the KS2 year groups. This is then reinforced by the class teachers teaching a further 30 minutes at a later stage during the week. At Corpus Christi we make learning languages fun, engaging and interactive.
French in our School
Every week our KS2 classes (Years 3-6) have a dedicated French lesson with a native French speaker Madame Travis. We all learn French vocabulary and how to read/ write in French. We also continue what we have learnt with Madame Travis with our class teachers at other points during the week.
